When trying to understand any topic, I usually start with an understanding of the definition of the word or phrase.

The phrasal verb follow-through, according to the Collins Dictionary, is “something that completes an action or a planned series of actions”.

The reason I have chosen Collins Dictionary out of many is for the following explanation of this verb that clicks something in me and lightens the path to understanding the issue.

Collins Dictionary Explanation: “If you follow through an action, plan, or idea or follow through with it, you continue doing or thinking about it until you have done everything possible.”

In animation world follow-through is animation of the character’s movement till the end.

The ability to do what is necessary until you have done everything possible is the key indicator of whether people can follow through with things or not.

I think about this because following through presents the greatest challenge for most of my students.

My first large group coaching included 20 people. Only few followed through. There is a room for development.
