Can we achieve any goal without discipline?

Obviously there are people who achieve goals not through discipline but other values, like passion, action and persistence. There might be more. But to my opinion, people with those values are like hunters or wild animals attempting to achieve goals. Hunting is not without discipline, of course, but when I speak of hunting I imagine something unorganized and fueled by adrenaline that comes with chasing the prey.

With the large goals, complicated tasks, ambitious achievement everyone will have to be disciplined.

You can win one football game in your neighborhood, but to become the best football team you need to develop many skills which will require discipline. I was never a fan of discipline. I never went into sports. Even the scouts group I joined was more of soviet hippie in disguise. In my teens I could never do a planned task on time. Discipline was what I hated. I did well without discipline because I was like a hunter and a wild animal. But, with adolescence came ambitions. I had to admit that I needed discipline. I took me years to figure out even to accept it. Now I work on my discipline. I am 45.

Counting my days

If you count your days.. How many days do you have left to live with a life expectancy of 70 years?

I have 9K days plus something. Which is a bit over 25 years.

Got me thinking. I have read in “The Almighty Formula” that to live an effective and fulfilling life, we need to have a plan for 25 years.

And I have realized that it is practically all of life left if I reach the age of 70. It is the plan for the rest of my life. In this case, I should be very clear about what I want to do going forward.

I have spent my years looking for what I wanted to do.
For around 40 years, I was searching for my life purpose subconsciously.
For around 20 years, consciously and deliberately, I dedicated time to thinking about what my life is for.
Believe it or not, it crystallized into a life mission just in recent years.

Looking back 20 years, I think that there is no way I would have identified my life’s purpose then. I believe that the time of my search could not be shortened in any way. My life journey contributed to my understanding of purpose. A pivotal moment was in recent years when all cues brought me to the realization of what I want to be remembered for.

And the irony is that I have only 25 years left to accomplish that if I have those 25 years of active life ahead of me. If I have 9.178 days.

I was lucky to wake up in time. I am even scared to think of what regret I would have if I woke up 10 or 15 years later. But if my 70-year life expectancy wish will not be granted, I might have the same regret of not seeing what I see now a little bit earlier. Just a couple of decades earlier.

No one knows how many days are ahead. But if we have a well-developed plan for 25 years, we might be lucky to pass it over for other people to run, even if we are gone. That makes the whole process of achieving your life goal a totally different game. You can no longer rely on visible resources to achieve this. You have to tap into the invisible. Wisdom is one of those.

Using the days wisely might give me a chance to achieve what I want to. Even if I am gone soon.

How do people perceive me

Sometimes people think “who does she think she is?”, When see me actively pursuing my goals, taking the initiative or throwing a bold statement. If I say so, I know what is it I am saying. But for many it is just a statement. For me, it is just the tip of the iceberg. For the whole work around this statement is hidden from the eyes of people under the water. The tip of the ice is not the iceberg, the mass under the water is. And you should be careful not to assume thinking that what you see it is all it is. You know what happened with those who assumed 🤫

When the desire for publicity is problematic

People have the itch to become visible on social media, appreciated and respected as an influencer and a thought leader, although they were not even able to build their own personality and substantial product that can make a difference. This itch is a sign of a an ill self-esteem. We have to be the light of the world to be put in the corner to light all of the room. If your light is not strong enough, its place will not be the main corner, because you haven’t built depth to be able to shine far enough.

I use AI to transform my life

I use AI to transform my life. Not because it makes my life easier and creates more comfort, but because it helps me to get the best out of myself. And that is not comfortable.

I started working with AI daily in 2023. It was ChatGPT and I was amazed how it helped me to do research and organise data.

Firstly, I used it to brainstorm product ideas, get information on topics I needed for my projects.

Later, I have figured out that AI can go as deep as my questions will be. So I started employing it to work on my shortcomings.

I started asking why some things didn’t work in my projects, why I couldn’t do some things I wanted to, what caused me having issues in relationships, what was the mechanism behind complicated situations, and on, and on, and on.

What I understand now is that AI reflects us. What do you think of it? It is useless? Stupid? Or maybe that is you who can’t figure out and formulate your thoughts? Shallow questions lead to shallow answers.

I understood that I urgently had to develop my written and spoken communication skills. I needed to learn to express my thoughts, hold sequences of questions in my mind, keep the focus on the goal of discussion to get the result I wanted.

By now I have been able to resolve half of the issues I was dealing with. When it was very complicated I used to book therapy sessions. I have noticed that I haven’t done it for quite a while.

Using ChatGPT to educate myself and investigate my actions, chains of thoughts, reactions and triggers have given me a lot of freedom.

It is all about us not ChatGPT. If we are opened to explore ourselves and the world around us, AI will be like a Library where you could get any information you want just by saying it (I am using the audio function a lot). If we want to be lazy and make AI just complete tasks instead of us, it is going to harm us.

That’s the experience I have got with AI so far.

Also teaching people to do the same on my programs.

I transform myself using AI and hope people who learn from me do the same.

The transformation starts with ourselves.

Obsession

“Foxes have dens and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head” – came to my mind as I scrolled through the timeline and saw this image of firefighters resting after a long battle for the life of this part of the earth. Greece, August 2025.

When you are obsessed with your purpose in life, fully invested in your day-to-day tasks related to this purpose, you might find yourself in a situation where you will not care about what others think.

You will not care about the discomfort of others.

You will not care about the discomfort of your own.

Goal. Purpose. Life.
